MEMBERSHIP
AVMRA has different membership choices. To become a member, applicant must come to a meeting and complete a membership packet and submit it to the Board of Directors of the chapter. The applicant will need to have a sponsor that is a full member in good standing of AVMRA Chapter 5. After this is done the applicant must attend a combination of 6 Chapter 5 meetings and/or events. Three of these must be Chapter 5 meetings; the other 3 can be any combination of chapter 5 meetings, committees, breakfasts, and/or events. There is a $75 1st year application/dues fee. After the first year, dues are $20 and are payable in January of each year.
Veteran membership: Applicant must be a veteran interested in supporting and promoting the goals and objectives of AVMRA and desiring to make an active commitment to the association and its members. Their DD214 must indicate other than dishonorable discharge.
Associate member: Applicant must be over the age of 18 and interested in supporting and promoting the goals and objectives of AVMRA.
Junior member: A junior member must be between the ages of 5-18 years old, be sponsored by and established member, and be willing to participate in AVMRA events. The dues for a junior member are the cost of the junior member patch only.
Privileges of Members
The following privileges shall apply to the two classes of membership:
Regular (Veteran) Members: shall be qualified to wear the "AVMRA vest and insignia" and patches as defined in our bylaws. They are allowed to vote on all matters and motions considered during Chapter meetings. Regular members may be elected to Chapter offices.
Associate Members: Shall be qualified to wear the "Associate AVMRA vest and insignia" as defined by our bylaws. They shall vote individually, counting equally in this chapter, and may nominate and cast votes for the Associate Representative. An Associate member may hold the office of Associate Rep. Chaplin, Secretary, PX, Event Coordinator, Newsletter Editor, and POW/MIA officer, Security Officer and/or Road Captain.
